Schools outreach

The School of Chemistry at Leeds has an active schools outreach programme with events for all ages taking place both here at the University and within schools. Our aims are to inspire budding chemists and provide young people with an insight into Higher Education and the benefits it can bring.

Events for schools - recent and upcoming
In partnership with external bodies we provide lectures, competitions and residential courses – find out more about what we have to offer.

Talks in schools
From atmospheric chemistry to drug development, hear an academic from the School of Chemistry speak about their area of expertise in your school.  We offer a wide range of talks for schools, mainly for Key Stage 5 pupils, on the latest areas of research in Chemistry and Colour Science here at the University of Leeds.

Chemistry workshops
We have developed a range of fun, interactive workshops on various aspects of Chemistry that may be performed in school or here at the University. We have something to offer Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, from bath bombs to spectroscopy.

These pages are specifically for Chemistry related activities, but you can find out about our wider Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) schools outreach activities at STEM@Leeds.
