Fellowship success.

Dr Yuan Guo, a research fellow in Dr Dejian Zhou’s group, has been awarded a prestigious four-year Career Re-entry Fellowship by the Wellcome Trust.

This fellowship, which is worth more than £400K over four years, will support Dr Guo to develop her independent research in the School of Chemistry. Her work will focus on novel DNA based multivalent carbohydrate ligands to probe and manipulate viral receptor-sugar interactions that underpin a wide range of important biological processes, such as viral infection, cell-cell communication and cellular immune-response.

She will collaborate closely with colleagues in the School (Drs Dejian Zhou & Bruce Turnbull) and in the Faculty of Biological Sciences (Prof. Peter Stockley) on this project.
