In the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008 the School was confirmed as one of the top departments, being ranked 8th in the UK. This is reinforced by our "excellent" rating for our teaching in the Teaching Quality Assessment (TQA). The School of Chemistry has 55 academic and academic-related staff, in excess of 140 postgraduate students and 50 postdoctoral fellows.
