Research interests
We are interested in the mechanistic basis for enzyme catalysis and biosynthesis and in the application of organic chemistry to develop tools to investigate these questions. Current interests include the enzymology of pantothenate and purine biosynthesis, the regulation of carbon fixation in plants and the development of probes for unusual protein phosphorylation events. In addition to organic synthesis, we use a wide range of complementary biochemical approaches including macromolecular crystallography and isothermal titration calorimetry to investigate these systems. More information about these approaches and current projects can be found at the group website
