RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dye chemistry (synthesis, photochemistry and applications). Colour and constitution (chromophore design and MO predictions). Speciality dyes (fluorescent, indicators, diagnostic, photochromic, thermochromic, infrared, laser dyes). Colour change dyes (sensors, security printing). Ink-jet colorants. Dye photochemistry. Dyes as sensitisers in cancer photodynamic therapy. Dyes as photo-antimicrobial agents.
